The golden hour is my favorite time of day. I'll rush out from whatever is happening to go be in it. I've irritated many a travel partner pushing us to get somewhere - like the coast, an open field, the rooftop restaurant "in time" for this. And now...Golden Hour Awareness. I love this. I feel my brain warming in the soft hues.
I'd totally be on board with observing golden hour in the best possible light (no pun intended), Mira. 😊 Perhaps all of us should form a "Golden Hour Club" where we can sit quietly and observe Nature's majesty? 💛
Thank you for your beautiful post. As an HSP and introvert I feel as though I'm moving through my life with an electric shock collar and I never quite know when I'll get triggered. It can be something that wouldn't even show up on most people's radars. But I'm already out of time and space and back to some painful childhood experience. What has helped me is simply knowing, yes, this is going to happen and when it does allowing myself to take time to move through the feelings and sensations and usually I feel better the next day. And agree with you that being an HSP is also a gift, we also get to experience nuance and subtle beauty that many people simple don't notice. Here's to more golden moments.
Thank you for commenting, Judy. Yes, I hear that both about the shock collar and moving through it. And, yes, it is both a gift and a burden. I try my best to focus on the positive parts of being an HSP. ✌️
This is so lovely, Lisa. I’ve always enjoyed the golden hour of the day without really knowing why except for the magical glow that it often has. Nice reference to The Outsiders.
A beautiful use of metaphor here. I could especially relate to your comparison to a weighted blanket. And I very much appreciate the practical guidance for those golden-hour moments that I experience often. Again, I feel seen through your explorations that give a name to my experiences.

Glad that you caught the reference, Carol. 😉 Golden hour seems to be even more special for HSPs. 🌅

So sweet. And glad you feel seen here. 💕
