It has helped me to remember that other than human people, our plant and animal friends, experience ill health and death differently than human people. I remember when a beloved kitty named Geo was dying from a disease our vet couldn't diagnose. I asked Geo if he was OK if we ended his life and he said "yes". Geo didn't feel sorry for himself or angry at me. His quiet acceptance was extremely reassuring for me that I was doing the right thing.

I believe every Being in our world has wisdom and some type of consciousness and there's a lot I learn by talking with them. They're often wiser than I am.

Powerful story, Judy! Animals are incredible teachers, beautiful sentient beings. And yes, we HSPs do experience death/poor health more intensely than others. I'm sorry you had to go through that heartache with Geo. It's beautiful you could intuitively connect with him and feel that "yes" - knowing what to do next. I'm learning animal communication and it has made the universe feel more expansive. The unconditional love from our precious animals is deeply special.

"The unconditional love from our precious animals is deeply special" yes and they are often much wiser about what matters. My cats tend to remind me what really matters (a good meal, a warm place to snuggle, being loved and treasured). They set me straight when it comes to my priorities!

Yes they are so wise! I love that your cats remind you of those important parts of life. haha Oh yes... I know that well. My kitties do the same. As I write this, my boy is looking at me. He probably would appreciate some pets and of course, food. I do love the way they remind us to be present and to care for ourselves too. Grateful for these beautiful creatures! What a treat to have them in our home! 🥰

Yep. When I was a kid, before I went to bed, I’d line up my teddies so they were together in the dark, and nobody felt left out. I am better at not absorbing everything, but sometimes I do it without realising. Then I find myself getting teary further down the line, and realising these are not my tears. Energetic boundaries are a work in progress.

I really appreciate you sharing all of this, Lisa. The way we feel deeply connected with other souls is a gift and a huge emotional challenge. It's taken me years to understand how I can be compassionate, while also protecting my own empathetic self. I read a great book, Self-Care for the Self-Aware by Dave Markowitz -- this helped me recognize the way I absorb energy and release my need to be responsible for every living thing. There are times when it is really hard, as we care so much. It's good we can accept our HSP natural ways.

Yes!!!!... to all of this. Thank you for putting something so important into words. The HSP community is beautiful and it's important for us to all share our experiences. It can feel like so much effort as an HSP to feel emotion deeply, to see what others don't and to have to constantly play the chess game of deciding how authentically to connect with those who are not ready for it. However, being an HSP is such a gift. As you said; the connection we feel to nature, animals, humans, golden hour... is something not everyone experiences in life. I would add our connection to self/spirit as well. I loved this post- thank you for sharing it ✨🌞
